Benefiting from strong demand in the Southeast Asian motorcycle and small agricultural machinery markets, exports of Chinese-made air-cooled engines have seen significant growth this year. According to customs data, from January to September, total exports of Chinese-made air-cooled engines reached 120,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 65%, with Southeast Asia accounting for over 60% of the market share. Indonesia and Vietnam are the main export destinations. Due to the hot climate in Southeast Asia, which places high demands on engine cooling performance, Chinese-made air-cooled engines have gained recognition in the local market thanks to their efficient cooling design and high cost-effectiveness. Furthermore, companies have optimized engine fuel systems to address local fuel quality issues and reduce the risk of malfunctions. An executive from a leading company stated that they have already established an after-sales service center in Indonesia to shorten repair response times, and expect total exports to exceed 450 million yuan for the year. Industry insiders point out that with the deepening of the Belt and Road Initiative, the overseas market share of Chinese-made air-cooled engines will further expand.
